Lightweight Filigree Coronet
updated ?

I am not wealthy, and I am very sensitive to weight on my head. As such, I've been experimenting with materials to construct a baronial coronet that is economical and lightweight.

This is still a work in progress. I bought three Bead Landing™ Antique Brass Filigree Flower sets from Michaels for a total of six flowers. Three of the flowers were cut in half to make the six "points." Two more flowers were cut down to be placed between the "points" in the manner shown below.

The pearls are held on using gold head pins threaded through the filigree. The pieces are attached to each other using gold wire and gold jump rings.
I'm going to look for a better way to hold the pieces together and better pins to hold the pearls in place. I will be using Rub 'n Buff (or something similar) to make the pieces gold rather than brass. Also, I will need to put something around the base to prevent it from getting caught in my hair.
