Flower Crowns
updated ?
I love flower crowns! There's just something so festive and whimsical about them.

For Yule 2016, I was gifted a lovely holly wreath by Baroness Eadyth Woderose.

In a poem by Sappho, she describes herself and a lover wearing garlands of violets - which later came to be associated with "Sapphic" desire. I made some violet crowns for myself and some of my friends using millinery flowers and leaves from the Etsy shop APinkSwan, floral tape, floral wire, and fake ivy leaves. After I was given a court baronage, I added six pearls to the crown - it's now my "stealth coronet"!

Ruby Joust 2017: After seeing a group photo of people wearing flower crowns at an event, I decided to make a bunch of flower crowns for our barony members in blue and red, our baronial heraldic colors. I got the flowers on sale from Jo-Ann. I also got some of these rose crowns from eBay and swapped the light blue roses out for some other blue flowers (crowns exclusively made of roses are reserved for Ladies of the Order of the Rose).
